Four out of six piggies on Jan, 2009.
Overall Impression...
Worth the trip.
Meats...
Leroy's tender and tasty pulled pork is coarser in texture than most, as opposed to finely shredded. The chicken was scrumptious and I enjoyed every bite, including the crispy skin.
Sides...
The mac & cheese is actually large shells and cheese, and was accented with garlic. It's a bit drier than most, not creamy, but that suited me just fine. The cole slaw was finely shredded, crunchy, and quite tangy, to the point of being unpleasant. Try the greens. The perfectly cooked long strips are cooked with red onion, are savory, and delicious. Update: the cole slaw is fixed, and nicely balanced.
Sauces...
The one sauce is mild, slightly sweet, and has a spicy kick that sneaks up on you. Bottled hot sauces are also available.
Portions...
Ample. I did not walk away hungry.
Service...
Friendly.
Cost...
Affordable.
Atmosphere...
Outdoor food cart. The atmosphere on busy Division St is whatever you make of it, or take the meal home.
Pros...
Great BBQ at an affordable price. Convenient takeout. Open through the evening and Saturdays.
Cons...
Outdoor food cart.
